The narcotics unit arrested "Terminator" Vémola. Three others detained.
© AKTU.cz MMA fighter Karlos Vémola was detained the day before Christmas Eve during an extensive police raid at his home in Měchenice near Prague, which is connected to suspicions of drug-related criminal activity. The National Drug Headquarters carried out the operation on site with the assistance of the Customs Administration, and detectives detained a total of three people in Prague and the Central Bohemian Region.

Raid in "Vémoland"
The raid began on Tuesday morning at a luxury house nicknamed "Vémoland" in Měchenice near Prague, where Vémola lives with his family. According to witnesses and media footage, the fighter was led out of the house in handcuffs and taken away in a police vehicle.
Role of the National Drug Enforcement Centre
The operation is being led by the National Drug Enforcement Centre, which officially confirmed the raid, stating that it concerns drug-related criminal activity. According to spokeswoman Lucie Šmoldasová, the police detained three people in Prague and in the Central Bohemian Region; further details are not being released due to ongoing criminal proceedings.
Other detained persons and context
Among the detainees, in addition to Vémola, is said to be his close friend Antonín Beck Sr., at whose property a simultaneous raid took place. During the operation, police and customs officers are conducting house searches and securing possible evidence, while they have not yet disclosed details about the scope or the legal qualification of the acts.
Family statements and circumstances
The detention was confirmed to the media by the manager of Vémola's wife, Lela Vémola; the family has not provided further comment. According to him, Vémola was to undergo an emergency operation for inflammation in his jaw on the day of the raid and said he "definitely did not expect" this for his Christmas.
Vémola's previous cases
The fighter has previously faced sanctions related to narcotics during his stay in the United Kingdom, where he was punished in 2016 for a drug offence. In the Czech Republic he came under the attention of authorities over the keeping of exotic animals, when customs officers seized a tigress from him in 2022 and in 2023 he was charged with unauthorised handling of a protected tiger cub.
