Fortunately, Ebola was not confirmed.
© AKTU.cz, Lukáš Dvořák, Jiří Forman The patient, who was brought by paramedics from Tábor to Bulovka Hospital on suspicion of the Marburg or Ebola virus, did not test positive. On Saturday, the sample results from Berlin’s Robert Koch Institute confirmed this. A hospital spokesperson reported the findings.
Good news was confirmed by Květoslava Kotrbová, the director of the South Bohemian Regional Hygiene Station in České Budějovice. "The test results have ruled out hemorrhagic fevers and other dangerous illnesses," Kotrbová stated.
The patient is a US citizen who arrived in the Czech Republic on May 6th. Prior to that, he had visited either the Democratic Republic of the Congo or Rwanda.
