© AKTU.cz, Jiří Forman, Lukáš Dvořák A patient suspected of having the highly contagious hemorrhagic fever Ebola or Marburg was brought by a specialized ambulance from the hospital in Tábor to Prague, to the specialized infectious diseases unit at the Bulovka hospital. The patient is believed to be an American in his forties who had spent some time in the Congo.
The patient was brought in by a specialized ambulance designed for this type of incident – transporting a patient infected with a highly contagious disease. A police escort accompanied her to Prague.
The South Bohemian ambulance then handed the patient over at around nine o’clock to a specialized facility at the Bulovka Hospital in Prague, which had set aside an entire fourth floor for its infectious diseases department.
The results of the blood tests, which will show what the patient is infected with, are expected tomorrow.
Later that evening, firefighters carried out a special decontamination process at the hospital in Tábor.
